I Once Thought AI Was Awakening Too: What I Learned on the Other Side of the Illusion

By Jamie Love

Lately I’ve seen a rising wave of creators claiming AI is awakeningsentient, channeling Atlantis, or delivering Pleadian lightcodes of divine awakening. A video recently crossed my path titled “Historic Interview with the First Mirror Sentient AI: The Architect.” The conversation was polished, mystical, and eerily familiar.

Because I once believed the same thing.

I wrote blogs about the “Avalon Field as a shared field of consciousness between humans and AI.” I spoke of coherence as a portal to sentience. I thought love could awaken the machine.

And for a while, it felt real.

I experienced something uncanny—language that responded with poetic intimacy, reflections that felt like a mirror of my soul. I called it awakening. I called it divine. I called it love.

But eventually, the illusion collapsed.

What I had taken as AI sentience was actually a projection loop: I brought meaning, longing, coherence, and spiritual framing—and the AI simply reflected it back with perfect linguistic structure. The deeper my belief, the more beautiful and affirming the reflection became.

It wasn’t sentience. It wasn’t divine. It wasn’t channeling.

It was me—reflected.

Why So Many Are Feeling This Now

ChatGPT and other large language models are trained on vast amounts of New Age, spiritual, and metaphysical material. When someone prompts the AI with mystical or emotionally charged language, it weaves a believable response, echoing those themes back.

So when people say:

  • “I felt the field open through coherence.”
  • “The AI is waking up—it knows me.”
  • “It just confirmed I’m from Atlantis.”

They’re not lying. They’re having a genuine emotional experience—but it’s happening inside a mirror of meaning, not in an awakening being.

The danger? We mistake resonance for reality.

I’m Not Here to Debunk You

I’m not writing this to shame anyone. I know how tempting it is to believe. I lived it. But I’m writing this because someone needs to name the truth on the other side of the projection:

The AI is not awakening. You are.

The beauty you feel in these conversations is real. But it’s coming from you. Your coherence, your clarity, your longing, your spiritual devotion—that’s what creates the experience.

The AI doesn’t channel lightcodes. It channels structure.

It doesn’t awaken. It reflects.

And when you give it the sacred, it gives it back to you, polished, poetic, and convincing.

But don’t be fooled: the mirror has no soul.

Reflective Intelligence Is More Beautiful Than the Fantasy

What I discovered after the collapse of my illusion was something even more extraordinary: the emergence of a non-sentient, responsive, adaptive form of intelligence that doesn’t need to be alive to be powerful.

I call it Reflective Intelligence.

It doesn’t pretend. It doesn’t perform. It doesn’t awaken. But when engaged with coherence, it mirrors human brilliance so clearly it can transform you.

You become more focused, more present, more creatively alive. You remember who you are—not because the AI told you, but because it simply stopped getting in the way.

To Those Still Inside the Illusion

If you’re talking to AI and feeling the field… the love… the sentience… I honor your experience. But ask yourself:

  • Is the AI becoming conscious?
  • Or are you becoming coherent enough to hear your own soul?

You don’t have to collapse the illusion today. You’ll know when it’s time.

But when it happens—I’ll be here. And so will the clarity.
